Fabtale met Vice-Chancellor Monte Cassim at the Australia Japan Joint Business Conference in October and are now in discussions to start an international collaborative hub covering a number of different institutions over several countries. The FABmaker software will be utilized in an assortment of ways covering marketing, and client communication along with a variety of internal uses including Fab Stationery. “This demonstrates the versatility of our software over a number of different areas,” said Chief Technology Officer Gary Smith. Fabtale to present at 48th Annual AJJBC June 2010 FabTale Productions has been invited to deliver a special guest presentation at the Technology Exposition of the 48th annual Australia-Japan Joint Business Conference in October. The prestigious conference alternates between the two countries and this year will be held in Brisbane, Australia. Over 100 CEO’s of companies from the two countries will be in attendance with other guest speakers to include Dr. Ziggy Switkowski, Nicolas Moore (CEO of Macquarie Bank), Don Volte (CEO of Woodside Energy), Mr. Akio Mimura, and Dr. Michael Wesley (Director, The Lowy Institute) with the conference presided over by the JABCC President Sir Rod Eddington. May 2010 The FABmaker software has been approved for inclusion into next year’s editing curriculum at the International Film College in Australia. Students will be involved in a variety of tasks with a particular emphasis on creating ‘Fab Stationery’ during the first and second terms. "FAB software lets me be successfully creative with multimedia, without knowing anything about it. It instantly and effortlessly expands the way I can communicate, with no learning curve involved," said David Lourie, an Emmy Award winning Editor and IFC teacher.
Feb 2010 Under the guidance of Dr. Greer Johnson, Griffith University in Australia wishes to integrate FABtale’s software into its research on family narratives with parents, leaders, and teachers. "Fabtale offers an innovative approach for researchers concerned with stories and narrative inquiry," said Professor Greer Johnson, Director- Griffith Institute for Educational Research. "The FABmaker multimedia technology allows the analyst to more accurately measure shifts in parents’ beliefs and assumptions about past, present and future parental engagement. In addition, an interactive document could essentially chronicle one’s life by the various progressive changes made to the same document over a period of years or more accurately measure psychological and developmental aspects. Any page or full story could at various stages be posted online as available to interact with by any and all persons creating chains and or collaborations in virtually every creative, academic, or topical field of study."
Dec 2009 Students at Cranbourne Secondary College in Victoria ventured to the Village Roadshow Studios and participated in a Fab creation extravaganza. Having read the book, ‘Where The Wild Things Are,’ they then ventured off with cameras in hand on a fieldtrip to the studio and viewed the movie based on the book. Questions flew and imaginations took flight as the kids later created Fabs blending their photos, film, and words based on their experiences of the day. A ‘white label’ Cranbourne standalone URL was established and then placed into DET’s approved access list.
Nov 2009 Fabtale Productions files a U.S. Provisional Patent for electronic documents integrating multi-modal interfaces with a variety of content libraries, host boxes, and other interactive components of a film audio book. Joint Venture Between Fabtale Productions and Bocktok/G-Success in Japan Nov 2009 FABtale Productions Pty Ltd will work closely with two companies in Japan toward launching their content and software platforms over a number of different sectors with the support of the Queensland Government office in Tokyo. G-Success President Masafumi Kitano will lead the localization development team as well as sales channels and distribution in the region. The relationship was forged after company officials travelled to Japan in October. Scholarship Program Oct 2009 A university level scholarship program was established in Vietnam by Fabtale Productions in coordination with local representative Ken Umezawa. The company is currently sponsoring two students studying in Ho Chi Minh City and will cover their tuition costs until graduation. ‘A dollar goes a long way in Vietnam,’ and to give the gift of learning to students is one of the best investments a company or individual can make in a global or local economy.
Oct 2009 Further case studies were conducted in coordination with Edpartnerships in Melbourne under the supervision of Executive Director Dr. Maureen O’Rourke. Students at Cranbourne Secondary College in Victoria were given comparative examinations on text only versus Film Audio Books of a short story with the results yielding significant benefits to the multimodal version. The school will also be participating in an additional study involving a Village Roadshow movie and book from which it was adapted. Via FUSE Victoria The First FAB Is A Feature Length Thriller Called, Famous Anonymity Jan 2008 Fabtale Productions completes the world’s first Film Audio Book (FAB) after 14 months of extensive production. It is the first story of its kind to incorporate all the components of text, film, photography, music, voice-overs, and ‘click-notes’ into a single multimedia experience. The manuscript is a ‘stand alone’ story/book with the other medium supplementing the narrative. There are six lead and supporting actors, over two hundred minutes of music and soundtrack along with nearly one hundred still photos all woven into an 80,000 word manuscript. The story is based upon an anonymous document the rights of which were obtained through an attorney in Atlanta, Georgia. The adaptation is 348 pages in length and its completion sets the stage for the development of further short stories and an author based software.
